On behalf of Australian International Islamic College, a very warm welcome to you all. I trust you will have an enjoyable evening insha Allah.

This is the 8th Graduation Ceremony of the AIIC. This is another important milestone in our history and for our Australian community. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the students who are graduating today after a challenging, memorable and fruitful journey that took more than 12 years of your lives.

Throughout the year we have different events, functions, ceremonies and celebrations at AIIC. We organise various year round events, functions, ceremonies and celebrations. However nothing is more exciting than the year 12 graduation ceremony. It is the pinnacle of all celebrations. This is the occasion f or graduating students to celebrate their success and reap there awards of their hard work and efforts over the years.

This is a time for parents to feel proud and relieved seeing their children reach an important station in their life. None of this would have been possible but for the grace of Allah the Almighty and the equal opportunities that this beloved country of ours Australia offers us.

My dear students, you are approaching a very important juncture in your life. You are now ready for a different world of education. You are now ready for university, a place where you have to commit yourself and do more of your own research. In university life, education is very different, because education is not brought to you, you have to seek it.

You must pursue degrees that are marketable and are in demand. You must develop a passion for knowledge, you must know everything that will give you and your family a better life. At the same time be good and exemplary students of this great nation of ours, Australia.

Dear friends, AIIC endeavours to maintain the tradition of having well behaved, highly motivated, and performing group of students in Year 12. In addition to good academic performance our students actively participate in sports, cultural and various curricular activities, academic performance in the class.  See the video.

I also congratulate our students for achieving High Distinctions, Distinctions, Merits and Credits in the ICAS competitions.

Today I would like to share with the graduating students some of my important wishes and aspirations:

My dear principal and teachers I would like to draw your kind attention to the rapidly changing landscape of education nationally and internationally. The national educational policies are changing too fast, competition is increasing day by day. Changes in curriculum require more developed teaching skills, technology and other resources to make the learning process more interactive and effective. In such situations, we need to think more purposefully and to think about the future of our children, we need to ask some questions to ourselves, where we stand at the moment, are we putting enough effort to equip our children to develop excellent educational capabilities and other skills for present and for the future. We need to continuously improve and upgrade ourselves to keep up and be competitive with high standards and benchmarks.IMG_3004

We need to continuously improve and upgrade ourselves to keep up and be competitive with high standards and benchmarks. As Robert Marzano, the Famous educational researcher says, “for too long we have been told that you can only take the horse to the water, you can not make it drink” Our philosophy should always be, “How do we make the horse thirsty?”

My dear parents, your role is crucial to ensuring the educational excellence of our children. The more time we invest in our children’s education the more they will be successful and the more they will be able to contribute to our Australian society.

We at AIIC make all possible efforts to provide required resources, quality learning processes, every year we invest significantly in strengthening our education system more and more. Our main aim is to make it more beneficial, effective and competitive. I am proud of the contribution teachers make at AIIC, the challenges that they take to deal with the children, from diverse back grounds of different ethnic linguistic and cultural groups and your hard work is being acknowledged and well appreciated.

I am also very proud of our college Principal for her dedication and leadership in taking our college successfully forward. May Allah Subhanahu-watallah bless her and reward her. My special gratitude goes to our Managing Director Dato Jahubar Sathik Bin Abdul Razak who have contributed tremendously for the improvement of our college. Dato Abdul Razak is the main brain and is instrumental for the departmentalization of various duties, responsibilities and for monitoring the progress of those departments. May Allah bless him.

My dear teachers, Imams and Community Leaders, Allah Subhanahu-watallah has honoured us all to be educators, nurturers, fosterers , carers, mentors, moulders and shapers of young minds who will make up the future of our society and this beautiful nation Australia.

We have been entrusted by Allah Subhanahu-watallah to be the custodians of the future of these children, may Allah Subhanahu-watallah help us to make them as he says in the Quran “A source of happiness for all of us”, and indeed for Australia.

I also would like to take this opportunity to inform the audience that the state of the art world class library and prep building will be ready for the 2016 academic year Insha Allah…

Insha Allah there are two more building projects in the pipeline.

My final word to you the Graduands, AIIC is your second home and we are your second family. If there is anything with which we can help please do not hesitate to call on us. Enjoy your awards and rewards.

I also would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank the Parents , Teachers, Board Members , Imams, Administrators , Bus Drivers, IT Personnel, , Support Staff and Volunteers for their hard work and contribution and dedication throughout the year to make 2015 academic year a successful one.

Thank you very much. May Allah bless you all.
