AIIC Principal Mrs Mariam Banwa recently conferred in-school awards to students who excelled in the Write4Fun 2013 Schools Writing Competition. Prizes recognising their English writing skills in poetry and essay were given to the winners and runners-up in the lower, middle and high school categories.

The participation from our students was quite overwhelming, and in general, the teachers were impressed by the standard of writing which was, in the words of High School Co-ordinator Mrs Fathima Azhari, “beyond expectations”.

While there were no winners from our school on the national level, ten of our students’ entries made it to the second round. This is quite an achievement considering there were more than 12,500 entries from all over Australia.
