Lest We Forget

Australian International Islamic College held their annual ANZAC Day Commemoration Ceremony on 24 April 2017.
The college was honoured to have special guests Mr Peter James Mapp and Mr Gregory Abood from the RSL – Darra. Mr. Mapp gave the students and staff a very heart-felt speech. The college Principal, Mrs Banwa, addressed the assembly and spoke about the significance of ANZAC Day.

The program also included student presentations honouring our fallen heroes and signifying the importance of ANZAC Day. A range of poetry recitations, role-plays and songs were performed. The program concluded by acknowledging all the sorrow and loss caused by war.

Members of AIIC student council also visited ANZAC Square to participate in the ANZAC Day Student Commemoration Ceremony in the city. The students participated in the ceremony, which concluded with the wreath laying on the ANZAC Memorial.
