We are seeking a qualified School Social Worker to support students and families through a holistic, preventative wellbeing framework grounded in Islamic values, cultural competency, and contemporary social work practice.
This role is central to strengthening student wellbeing, family engagement, and positive school culture. It prioritises early intervention, prevention, and partnership with families, rather than reactive case management alone.

Provide individual and group counselling to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges
Conduct home visits where appropriate to strengthen school–family engagement
Support families to access community, health, and government services

Demonstrate high levels of cultural and religious competency, particularly when working with Muslim families from diverse backgrounds
Promote faith-informed, culturally responsive practices that uphold dignity, trust, and community values
Prevention, Positive Education & Workshops
Design and deliver preventative wellbeing workshops for students, parents, and staff
Support the implementation of Positive Education and Positive Psychology initiatives aligned with Islamic values such as ṣabr (resilience), shukr (gratitude), niyyah (purpose), and akhlaq (character)
Contribute to whole-school wellbeing programs that build emotional literacy, self-regulation, and healthy relationships
Advocacy, Policy & Collaboration
Advocate for student wellbeing and family needs within the school and with external agencies
Provide crisis intervention and support in matters relating to child protection and significant welfare concerns
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary school team
Contribute to the development, review, and evaluation of wellbeing policies and procedures
You are a grounded, values-driven professional who understands that faith, family, and community are essential to effective social work in schools. You are confident working preventatively and relationally, not only in crisis.

Experience working with children, young people, and families
Strong counselling, facilitation, and case management skills

Sound understanding of child protection and mandatory reporting obligations
Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)
Highly Desirable:
Experience in an Islamic or faith-based educational setting
Experience delivering workshops or group-based wellbeing programs
Ability to integrate Islamic principles with contemporary wellbeing frameworks
Work in a values-led Islamic school with strong community trust
Opportunity to shape preventative, faith-informed wellbeing practice
