Kindy 2024

As we approach the beginning of Term 1 2024, we are eagerly anticipating welcoming all the students and families to the new academic year. This letter serves to inform you of important updates and arrangements for this year.

Our Kindergarten class has been relocated due to construction near its previous location.
The new classroom is in the Lower Primary building, also known as G block, specifically in room G3 next to Prep E. Staff members will be available to guide you to our new classroom, and both Ms Zainab, our teacher for Term 1, and our Teacher Aide will be at the door each day to greet and welcome your children.

For the initial few weeks, we request that parents park their cars in the designated “Reserved” bays, clearly marked as “Kindy only parking.” This will allow you to walk your child directly to our classroom. Gradually, we will transition to using the standard drop-off and pick-up points.

Please ensure that your child is dropped off by 8:40 am and picked up between 2:45 pm and 3:05 pm each day.

Kindy Education

The Australian International Islamic College Durack Campus Kindergarten has been in operation since 2008. We are the first Islamic based Kindergarten in Brisbane. We share a sense of belonging with our Kindergarten community by embedding children’s learning in Deen. We also use the Early Years Learning Framework to embed early childhood practice. Our Educators engage with professional development opportunities to further build onto their existing skills and to ensure that their skill is current with educational trends and theories. Children that engage with a kindergarten program are given the opportunity to build onto social and emotional skills. They learn to express their feelings in order to obtain and receive social requests. They learn early literacy and numeracy skills.

Through the support provided by our Early Childhood educators your child will:

  • Interact with other children and build friendships with other children
  • Think creatively and think big
  • Explore nature
  • Develop confidence and independence
  • Play and learn
  • Communicate well
  • Participate in an active learning environment

What does Kindergarten Involve?

The A.I.I.C Kindergarten program consists of a full five day block. Children attend the centre on a 6.5 hours a day basis. Through this attendance and participation, we are facilitating readiness for the Preparatory Year.

Your child's learning journey

Our teaching team is the same each day and with the guidance of teaching staff at A.I.I.C our children’s interests are inspired further and documented.

Our teaching team observes your child’s learning and document this to present you with your child’s learning journey through which you too can add and document learning at home.

We believe in building collaborative relationships with families and children’s significant others to ensure the child’s well being is catered for and they feel a strong sense of identity and belonging.

How much does it cost?

Kindergarten costs vary for local and International students. Our weekly fee is $150.00 and the subsidized rate is $100.00. Please contact the school office for the International Enrolment rate.

Your family may be eligible for government support. ”  information on the Health Care Card subsidy for kindergarten programs go to: Subsidies available under the Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme
