Principal's Message

Andrew Taylor

Islamic schools are among the fastest growing schools in Australia. In Islam, a high premium is placed on education and knowledge. The Holy Quran says, “Allah will exalt those of you who believe and those who have knowledge to high degrees” (Surah 58:11). In Islamic pedagogy, knowledge is balanced by spiritual, social and ethical teachings from the Quran. That is why our vision is to deliver a holistic and universal education that develops the mind, body and soul of our students.

To navigate an uncertain future and changing world, the demand for a world class education will continue to grow. We expect every child to show a year’s growth in learning for each year of teaching. Let’s call this visible learning. It takes an interested and motivated teacher, high expectations, a challenging curriculum, effective classroom management, regular feedback, explicit and personalised instruction, additional learning support and focused study habits for a student to reach their full academic potential every year.

Our students are joined in their journey by qualified, experienced and inspirational teachers. To prepare them for the world of work, university and successful careers, students at AIIC receive modern instruction in robotics, engineering and computer programming in our new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) building, alongside classic instruction in Literature, History, Arabic and Quran memorisation. Our Vocational Education and Training program enables students to gain nationally recognised qualifications while at school and learn skills and knowledge required for specific industries such as aviation.

We provide a rich variety of co-curricular activities to foster experiential learning, community service and leadership. Our aim is for students to develop the character and learn the habits that will last a lifetime to become optimistic, tolerant and responsible Australian citizens. Leaders are made, not born, at the Australian International Islamic College.

I look forward to welcoming you in person to this great school.

Sincerely,
Andrew Taylor
