Lower Primary

At the Australian International Islamic College, our Lower Primary program, encompassing Kindergarten to Year 2, is a testament to our commitment to nurturing the whole child – academically, spiritually, and socially – in harmony with our cherished Islamic values and traditions.

The journey commences in Kindergarten, laying the groundwork for Islamic teachings, phonics, numeracy, and creative exploration. This phase is critical for setting the tone for a child’s educational and spiritual path. As students progress to Year 1 and 2, their experience enriches, delving deeper into Islamic practices and broadening their academic horizons to include literacy, numeracy, science, health, digital technologies, and the arts. This approach aims to foster holistic development, preparing our students for a lifelong journey of learning and growth.

Curriculum Goals: Fostering a Balanced Development

Our curriculum is meticulously designed to instill an appreciation of Islamic values, create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We emphasize the importance of literacy and numeracy while integrating technology to enrich learning experiences. Our curriculum is also tailored to provide meaningful, real-world connections, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their future academic endeavors.

Preparatory Year at AIIC

The Prep Year at AIIC marks the beginning of this enriching journey. In this foundational year, students are gently introduced to the school setting and the basics of education. The curriculum includes the fundamentals of Islamic teachings, English phonics, early numeracy in Mathematics, natural world exploration in Science, personal health in HPE, an introduction to technology, and encouraging creative expression through the Arts.

Year 1: Building Foundations for Future Success

In Year 1, our focus is on deepening the students’ understanding of Islamic teachings and enhancing their academic skills. The curriculum is designed to establish a strong foundation in English literacy, Mathematics, Science, and other key areas, fostering a love for learning and inquiry.

Year 2: Broadening Horizons and Deepening Understanding

Year 2 is dedicated to exploring more complex concepts and broadening the students’ understanding across all subjects. The curriculum is expanded to provide a more comprehensive understanding of Islamic teachings, enhance English literacy skills, introduce more complex arithmetic concepts in Mathematics, and offer a hands-on approach to Science, among other areas.
